Job Description We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO is responsible for overseeing the financial strategy and performance of Lightwave Logic. As a member of the executive leadership team, the CFO ensures the organization maintains fiscal discipline while enabling growth and innovation. This role provides executive leadership for financial planning, reporting, treasury, investor relations, and risk management. They lead the finance and accounting team while partnering closely with other leaders to align financial outcomes with company strategy. The preferred location for this position is Denver, Colorado. Relocation assistance is available. Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee all fundraising initiatives and investor relations activities, including the development and delivery of investor updates, presentations, and communications. Lead M&A process including target identification, deal execution and negotiation, relations with bankers, financing, due diligence and integration planning. Direct all aspects of financial planning, analysis, and forecasting to support strategic initiatives and business operations. Manage treasury operations, including cash flow, banking relationships, and liquidity management, to ensure financial stability and capitalize on growth opportunities. Identify, assess, and monitor financial and operational risks across all areas of the business. Provide consistent and empowering leadership to the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Consistent collaboration with leaders across the organization to analyze data, control costs, and drive efficient resource allocation. Maintain and update multi-year financial projections to support long-term planning and investment strategies. Partner with leadership to evaluate the financial impacts of strategic decisions and guide resource allocation accordingly. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and financial reporting standards, maintaining financial statements with the highest level of integrity and accuracy. Promote a positive and professional corporate culture that attracts and retains top talent. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

Master’s degree in finance, accounting, or an MBA. Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience. Previous experience as a CFO or VP of Finance in a fast-paced, high-growth public company. Prior experience in fostering and managing investor relations for a public company. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Relatable, charismatic, and approachable demeanor, with the ability to connect with a globally diverse audience. Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills. Previous M&A experience. Demonstrated understanding of capital markets and financial instruments, with a proven track record of navigating complex financial environments. Exceptional skills in negotiation and transaction structuring, with a proven ability to execute complex financial agreements that align with organizational goals. The ability to travel domestically and internationally as required for business needs. Previous experience with companies in the technology sector is preferred. Previous experience in a rapid growth start-up is a plus. The salary range for this role is $310,000- $350,000, plus equity.
