Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for the organizations employee relations functions and managing performance management. This role ensures fair and consistent employee treatment, proactive risk mitigation, and effective resolution of workplace issues while building a culture of accountability and engagement. The Employee Relations Specialist partners with business leaders, legal, and the human resources department to deliver scalable processes across the company. In addition, the Employee Relations Specialist will be cross trained in all Human Resources functions to always ensure ample coverage for the Human Resources Department.
Employee Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations issues, investigations, and conflict resolution. Conduct and manage investigations into employee complaints, policy violations, and workplace disputes; document findings and recommend outcomes. Responsible for partnering with LAUNCH clients when an employee matter arises. Coach managers and supervisors on handling sensitive performance and conduct issues. Partner with Chief Human Resources & Risk Offers and General Counsel on high-risk, executive, or legally complex matters. Ensure employee relations practices comply with federal and state employment laws across all states. Track employee relations metrics to identify trends and recommend proactive interventions. Partner with Human Resources Director and Senior Human Resources Coordinator to manage the Human Resources email inbox. Provide employees with quick and helpful responses.
Performance Management Own the end-to-end performance management cycle (goal setting, mid-year reviews, annual evaluations, calibration). Provide training and resources to managers to ensure consistent and effective performance feedback. Guide leaders through performance improvement plans (PIPs) and corrective action processes. Partner with HR Director and CHRO to align individual performance outcomes with company objectives. Analyze performance data and report workforce trends, development needs, and succession gaps.
Other Attend recruiter meetings to anticipate and prevent workplace issues, specifically with the external LAUNCH population. Review notes and data entered with Bullhorn to ensure compliance. Develop training materials; deliver training sessions on employee relations and general HR topics. Responsible for understanding all HR policies and procedures to ensure coverage for Senior HR Coordinator and/or Director of HR and effectively answer employee questions. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Communications, Business Administration, or related field. 3-5 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on employee relations and/or performance management. Strong knowledge of employment law and multi-state compliance requirements. Proven track record of managing sensitive investigations and resolving complex employee issues. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills. Ability to work with discretion, handle confidential information, and influence senior leaders. Experience with ADP Workforce Now, employee engagement tools, and data analytics. Ability to travel as needed.
