Overview

The Senior Accountant will join our client’s team to support both corporate and business unit operations. This role offers an opportunity to build deep expertise in core accounting processes while gaining exposure to a broad range of financial responsibilities across our six intelligence and software organizations. The ideal candidate will be CPA-certified, grounded in the fundamentals of accounting, and eager to grow in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The position offers a flexible hybrid schedule with office days located in Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Own the preparation and posting of journal entries with accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger account analysis across multiple subledgers.
  • Maintain a portion of the month-end close checklist and other project timelines to meet multiple accounting deadlines.
  • Partner with finance teams across business units to ensure consistency, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting.
  • Handle internal and external audit requests in a timely manner.
  • Support the implementation of new accounting standards and processes across business units.
  • Maintain clear documentation of procedures, controls, and key transactions.
  • Be a champion of innovation and change within the local team and the larger finance organization.
  • Utilize multiple accounting and reporting tools simultaneously to achieve goals.
  • Perform relevant ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • CPA required (active license).
  • Minimum 2+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably with exposure to public accounting or corporate accounting (Big Four experience is a plus).
  • Strong foundation in journal entries, reconciliations, and GAAP compliance.
  • Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems (Oracle Cloud ERP experience preferred).
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
