Headquartered in Denver, CO, Atlas employs thousands of professionals with offices throughout the US. We are seeking a Human Resources Manager/Strategic Business Partner to join our team.
As the Human Resources Manager, you’ll act as the primary strategic HR manager for the Infrastructure East region within Atlas. You’ll partner with senior leadership to shape workforce strategy, lead organizational design initiatives, and guide change management efforts that drive business results. This role serves as a consultant to leadership and management teams on human resource related issues while managing risk with the unique demands of field and office-based teams. A successful HR Manager balances employee advocacy with organizational interests, anticipates HR-related needs for assigned projects and offices, and partners proactively with HR subject matter experts and business management to develop integrated solutions. The HR Manager formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. The HR Manager maintains an effective level of business acumen about the company’s financial position, mid-range plans, culture and industry market conditions.

Job Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Strategic Business Partnering: Translates the business plan into talent and organizational plans, including organizational redesign, strategic workforce planning, total rewards solutions, succession planning and talent management, organizational development and employee engagement of the workforce.
- Client Service Management: Establishes and maintains a collaborative, trust-based partnership with internal leaders. Understands Atlas’s strategy and lines of business and the needs of assigned business groups. Delivers value-added HR services to support those needs and develops ideas to leverage the workforce for Atlas’s competitive advantage.
- Leadership Guidance, Development & Coaching: Provides leadership and guidance to business leaders on employee and organizational strategies. Develops and implements leadership and management programs; identifies coaching opportunities.
- Performance Management: Guides leaders on performance management, supports succession planning for key roles, identifies top performers, and ensures robust development plans. Assists leaders in addressing performance deficiencies and conducts regular performance conversations.
- Employee Development: Advises leaders on career development discussions with employees.
- Employee Relations: Addresses HR inquiries and investigations, provides policy guidance, facilitates a respectful and safe environment, and partners with legal counsel as needed.
- Organizational Effectiveness: Advises on organizational design and changes; coaches leaders during change initiatives and acts as a change agent.
- Workforce Planning: Helps leaders develop workforce strategies, ensures talent pipelines, aligns current talent to business needs, and supports equitable salary and career planning with a future-focused view.
- HR Programs: Contributes to development and maintenance of HR programs, supports talent acquisition, training, and health & welfare benefit initiatives.
- HR Team Engagement: Guides HR team members, maintains confidentiality, and shares timely updates on business metrics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and training; eight (8) or more years of HR experience with emphasis on employee relations, leadership coaching, performance management, workforce planning, and change management.
- Strong partnering and collaboration skills; ability to manage relationships at all levels.
- Knowledge of multiple HR disciplines; expertise in coaching and consulting.
- Excellent project and program management skills; strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a changing environment and culture; responds positively to rapid change and demonstrates resiliency.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills; highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint; excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of EEOC, COBRA, ERISA, FLSA, DOL, FMLA, HIPAA and related state and federal regulations.
- Affiliation with HR and/or AEC industry organizations preferred.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
