Overview

Opening Fall 2025, Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide South Florida with 120,000 square feet of event space, new food and beverage options, a spa, and an entertainment pedestrian plaza. The hotel will be connected to the Broward County Convention Center and near Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale Airport.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, and serve food and beverage offerings within a coffee house setting
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates
  • Represent Omni standards when handling guest complaints and issues
  • Remain professional in all situations
  • Work in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Follow proper uniform and grooming standards
  • Maintain lobby public areas and assist with monthly inventory as needed
  • Maintain a clean work space throughout the entire shift
  • Follow procedures for logs, receipts and returns
  • Maintain a cash bank and adhere to cash handling procedures
  • Ensure accuracy of guest room numbers for room charges
  • Collaborate with other departments to satisfy guest needs
  • Adhere to proper food handling procedures
  • Knowledge of equipment use and safety procedures
  • Adhere to policies regarding employee purchases and discount standards
  • Follow procedures for accepting credit cards and checks
  • Ensure each beverage is consistently prepared and served to Omni standards
  • Proactively seek ways to improve guest experience

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year customer service experience in food/beverage and/or retail
  • Previous coffee house and/or hotel experience preferred
  • Previous cash handling and customer service experience required
  • Clear and pleasant written and verbal communication in English with guests, management and coworkers
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input information into MICROS
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with a calm and welcoming demeanor
  • Ability to work cohesively with coworkers within and outside of your department
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and follow up on guest requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Must become familiar with all products and methods including Coffee, Espresso, Specialty Drinks and Retail Items

Environment & Tools

  • Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance
  • Stand, walk or sit for extended periods
  • Repetitive motion with hands and arms
  • Tools & Equipment: desktop computer, Opera/Micros terminals, Microsoft Office, printer, telephone, copier, fax, scanner; coffee maker, urn, toaster, microwave, beverage machines, dishware, glassware, espresso machine, TurboChef
