Job Description Salary: Hiring Range: $16.00 - $17.00 Hiring Range: $16.00 - $17.00 Hours: Tuesday thru Friday with rotating Saturdays. Hours vary from 9am-2pm, 2pm-6pm and one day at 9am-6pm. Saturdays are 9am-1pm.
JOB SUMMARY Under the direct supervision of the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Representative will be responsible for all customer service responsibilities at the Hattendorf and/or Pavilion customer service desk or via phone for internal and external customers of the Elk Grove Park District.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Knowledge of the Pavilion and Al Hattendorf Center, each of its rooms and all the services provided within the buildings. Understanding of all Park District facilities and services including directions to the various sites. Responsible for learning the information in each seasonal brochure and which coordinator is responsible for each program. Update switchboard and facility with timely marketing materials. Responsible for the RecTrac registration system and point of sale transactions. Communicate to co-workers within the office and to the necessary parties affected by changes or customer needs. Work closely with Leisure Services Superintendents, Managers and Coordinators to learn details and program requirements. Ensure customer needs are met and issues communicated to appropriate staff for resolution. Responsible cash handling and basic accounting processes. Assist other Park District staff with special projects as needed. Assist with filing, office cleaning and organizing as needed. Responsible for sustaining a safe work environment. Performs the job safely and in compliance with district policies, procedures, work and safety rules. Be familiar with the safe operation of any equipment necessary in accomplishing required tasks.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Communicate with all Pavilion and Hattendorf personnel, including security, building attendants, fitness staff, aquatic staff and party staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ability to work scheduled hours as assigned: Monday through Friday, 8:45am-7:45pm at the Pavilion and Saturday 8:45am- 1:15pm, and/or Monday-Friday 8:45am-5:15pm at the Hattendorf Building, as well as off-site registrations as assigned. Professional phone skills, attention to detail and outgoing personality with a customer service orientation. Must be 18 years of age or older. Good knowledge of pertinent safety precautions. Ability to maintain positive and effective working relationships with other employees.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent. Prior customer service experience preferred.
