As a Senior Quality Engineer at MacLean-Fogg, you will establish, maintain, and continuously improve quality standards for products and processes. This role involves leading cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate quality risks, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with internal and external quality standards. The Senior Quality Engineer plays a key role in root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, and mentoring junior engineers to build a culture of quality across the organization. Position Type: Full-Time/Salary (Exempt) **Pay Range: **$85,000 - $110,000 (depending on skills and experience) **Work Location: **Onsite - Mooresville, North Carolina 28115 Key Responsibilities
Establish and maintain quality standards for products and processes.
Lead cross-functional teams, including product design, product management, manufacturing, and suppliers, to identify quality risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Conduct audits of production processes, raw materials, and suppliers/vendors to ensure adherence to internal and external quality standards, including ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications.
Lead complex investigations into product defects, non-conformities, and quality failures. Use advanced problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, Fishbone, FMEA) to perform root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other applicable certifications. Prepare and assist with external audits.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of quality documentation, including audit reports, Non-Conformance Reports, CAPAs, and other quality-related records.
Participate in APQP activities to ensure product and process quality throughout the product lifecycle.
Prepare, compile, and submit approval of PPAP packages to support new product launches or engineering changes.
Follow and enforce all company policies regarding safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Skills/Competencies
In-depth knowledge of quality engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices. Proficient in root cause analysis, failure analysis, and quality improvement techniques (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and quality issues to all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
Advanced problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Proven leadership ability with experience in mentoring and coaching junior engineers, driving teams toward quality objectives, and fostering a culture of quality throughout the organization.
Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making. Proficient in using statistical tools, Excel, Minitab, or other data analysis software to support quality improvement initiatives.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and compliance in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications
Bachelor's in Engineering or related field. 4-6 years of experience or equivalent work experience. Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Required to stand for extended periods. Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds. Frequent bending and stooping required. Must have the dexterity to handle small objects. Must be able to work in noisy environments.
