The Hunt School of Nursing invites qualified applicants for adjunct faculty positions within the undergraduate nursing programs. Courses are available in the Traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (TBSN), Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN), and Davis RN-BSN program options. Course assignments may include core courses and/or practicum courses based on qualifications. TBSN and ABSN courses are offered face-to-face and online. RN-BSN courses are offered online. Practicum courses are offered online but may require in-person or virtual site visits. Practicum sites are located in proximity to the student’s home address.

Primary Responsibilities: · Teach material from the approved curriculum and up-to-date clinical practice guidelines · Advise students in matters related to academics, attendance, and professional behavior · Maintain and submit student grades and attendance per university policies · Maintain productive contact with students and offer support, as appropriate · Follow the guidelines, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Faculty Handbook · Collaborate with program faculty and leadership to ensure course quality · Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback · Participate in required adjunct faculty meetings and training sessions · Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications: · Master of Science in Nursing degree · Current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, a compact state, or be eligible for licensure in North Carolina. · Minimum of two years of employment in direct client care as an RN · Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills · Preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation. Applicants without this preparation may complete the required coursework within 3 years from the time of employment.
