We’re looking for a Traveling Event Equipment Technician to keep our fleet moving at NASCAR races and other large venues across the US! SUMMARY: The Traveling Event Equipment Technician is a member of SMI Properties, a subsidiary of Speedway Motorsports, LLC. This role resides in the Assets & Transportation department of SMI Properties, which provides golf cart rentals to large event venues across the US, including most NASCAR Cup Series races. This position is a full-time position which reports to the Operations Manager. The ideal candidate will adopt a GLOBE mentality. GLOBE stands for Generously Lending Our Best Efforts. JOB DUTIES: Travel to exciting events across the US (150+ days per year, hotel + per diem provided) Performing preventative maintenance and repair on equipment including but not limited to, golf carts, pressure washers, and generators Safely and efficiently operating equipment including but not limited to, golf carts, generators, pressure washers, diesel pickup trucks, and towing up to 10,000 lb. trailers Safely loading and securing, and unloading golf carts on trailers Event preparation, event set up, customer interaction, event execution Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: 21+ years of age and ability to obtain medical card, as required for driving company vehicles Mechanical aptitude, small engine knowledge strongly preferred Basic understanding and ability to use technology as required to complete tasks, including but not limited to, e-mail, reviewing Excel spreadsheets, utilizing a tablet and laptop computer Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions Proactive and able to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision Willingness to continually learn and adapt to new challenges Able to interact professionally with customers and employees at every level of the organization PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand for an extended period of time and work outside in various weather conditions Frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday BENEFITS: Insurance benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability 401K with company match Paid time off Hotel accommodations and daily per diem Continuing education opportunities
