With more than 55 years of service in Union County, UDI is recognized for delivering high-quality, person-centered services that make a lasting impact. We are currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Qualified Professional (QP) to help lead the clinical and habilitative success of our programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Program Oversight & Service Delivery Ensure all services are delivered in accordance with UDIs policies, state standards, Medicaid, and waiver requirements. Supervise assigned individuals receiving services, including:
Scheduling, team meeting participation, and documentation review. Regular communication with individuals, families, and responsible parties. Prompt resolution of complaints and grievances.
Review and verify Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and Treatment Authorizations. Monitor service delivery to ensure:
Goals and hours are met as outlined in ISPs. Effective and individualized outcomes are achieved. Therapeutic relationships and treatment interventions are consistently applied. Individuals make measurable progress toward their goals.
Documentation & Compliance
Complete all documentation accurately and on time, including short-term goals, task analyses, consents, and monthly/quarterly summaries. Analyze data to justify goal continuation or modifications based on client progress. Submit necessary documentation to Managed Care Organizations (MCOs).
Review and process service documentation to support accurate and timely billing. Maintain up-to-date, compliant clinical records and documentation. Prepare for and actively participate in agency accreditation reviews and MCO audits.
Admissions, Discharges & Transitions
Manage new referrals and ensure smooth transitions for individuals entering or exiting services. Provide orientation and support for newly admitted clients. Participate in all planning related to admissions and discharges.
Professionalism & Team Collaboration
Demonstrate adaptability, strong time management, and teamwork. Seek support when needed and contribute to a positive, mission-driven work culture.
Additional Duties: Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Manager or Executive Director.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY The Qualified Professional will oversee Direct Support Professionals assigned to provide home and community-based support services to the individuals on the QP's caseload.
POSITION TYPE | EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK | TRAVEL This is a full-time, non-exempt position. The Qualified Professional works a standard work week, but may also work evenings, weekends, and overtime hours as needed. Normally, the Qualified Professional works in an office environment but may spend a limited amount of time in other areas of the facility or offsite. Local travel (inside of county) expected. Out-of-town travel and overnight stays may be required.
ADA AND OTHER CONSIDERATIONS This job requires physical effort and operates in an environment that will include heat, cold, dust, loud noises, and moving equipment. Job may require you to work under the following conditions: Sit for long periods of time. Stand for long periods of time. Potential exposure to aggressive behaviors inclusive of physical and verbal aggression. Clothing may get dirty and/or torn. Possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS Must meet North Carolina credentialing requirements for a Qualified Professional (QP).
Masters degree in a human services field (preferred) OR Bachelors degree in a human services field with 2 years of MH/DD/SAS experience OR Bachelors in a non-human services field with 4 years of relevant experience.
Minimum 3 years of upper or mid-level management experience in a DD setting. Familiarity with regulations from DHHS, Medicaid, MCOs, and accrediting bodies (e.g., CARF). Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing). Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Supervisory experience with direct service professionals.
