About the Role The Maintenance Mechanic (2nd shift & 3rd shift) position is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production and packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in supporting smooth plant operations through equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. The Maintenance Mechanic will apply strong mechanical skills, preventative maintenance knowledge, and problem-solving abilities to keep systems operating at peak performance. Responsibilities Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance on manufacturing and packaging equipment
Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production systems
Install, align, and adjust machinery components as needed for safe and efficient operation
Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders in a timely manner
Ensure compliance with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and quality requirements
Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions and optimize equipment performance
Assist in continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades
Maintain an organized and safe work environment in the maintenance shop and production floor
Qualifications Previous experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing setting
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Understanding of preventative maintenance practices and repair procedures
High school diploma or equivalent required
Ability to lift, climb, and work in physically demanding conditions
Commitment to workplace safety and equipment reliability
Desired Qualifications Associate degree, trade school training, or technical certification in industrial maintenance or a related field
Experience with food manufacturing, packaging machinery, or high-speed production equipment
Welding, fabrication, or machining skills
Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and basic electrical systems
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
