An Import Specialist is needed to join a team in New Freedom, PA. This role manages all import processes, ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and trade laws. The Import Specialist works with suppliers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure the efficient flow of goods into the United States.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include managing the import process, ensuring regulatory compliance, verifying documentation, and determining tariff classification. The role involves coordinating with customs brokers and freight forwarders, monitoring shipments, and maintaining accurate records. The specialist stays updated on import regulations and collaborates with internal teams. Additional duties may include researching regulations and recommending cost-saving import strategies.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in international business or logistics is typically required. Candidates should have at least 3 years of import operations experience and a strong understanding of international trade regulations, including the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS). Essential skills include strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Proficiency in relevant software is also necessary. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is important.
