What You’ll Do
Staffing
Ensure the program is adequately staffed and monitored.
Train staff assigned to the Residence.
Provide weekly supervision meetings for residential staff.
Observe, monitor, and give feedback on staff regarding individual plans.
Model effective methods to teach positive and replacement behaviors.
Support staff in developing technical skills through documentation and communication.
Program
Ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations.
Track program and individual progress.
Collaborate with families and individuals to meet their needs.
Medical Care Oversight
Maintain and update medication records.
Ensure medical appointments are completed.
Work with medical professionals on behavioral and medical plans.
Report injuries and accidents as required.
Review Medical Administration Records regularly.
Reporting / Documentation
Monitor staff documentation and complete progress reports.
Respond to correspondence promptly.
Conduct unannounced visits and report findings.
Ensure incident reports are properly documented.
Prepare reports for management review.
Ensure billing and goal recording are up to date.
Communication
Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and staff.
Develop daily activities of interest.
Provide support and conflict resolution for staff.
Gather staff input and promote teamwork.
Participate in emergency on-call duties and other related tasks.
Other Duties
Attend training and implement management skills.
Your Qualifications
Education and Experience
B.A. in Human Services or related field.
2+ years’ experience in a similar environment, including 1 year in supervision.
Knowledge of Developmental Disabilities.
Skills
Strong observational and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Bi-lingual skills a plus.
Basic sign language ability required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Certifications
AMAP and First Aid/CPR/AED are a plus.
Valid NYS Driver’s License required.
