Market President
provides leadership and directs the overall operation of the Regional Medical Center. The Site Hospital President’s actions should align with City of Hope’s mission, vision, values, and strategic goals. The position involves utilizing resources to generate measurable results benefiting the organization, community, staff, and patients. The
Market President
reports to the Chief Integration Officer and is responsible for hospital and ambulatory development, growth of cancer services, outreach programs, operations, strategic planning, budgeting, clinical growth, patient experience, quality, performance improvement, and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and oversee organizational policies, objectives, and initiatives. Responsible for the performance and development of direct reports, including final approval of hiring and promotions.
Business Review & Collaboration:
Present business reviews to the Chief Integration Officer regularly. Collaborate with hospital leaders on major decisions, process changes, and projects. Develop plans to meet evolving needs, optimizing support services and information technology.
External Relations:
Build relationships with external stakeholders, representing City of Hope’s mission with donors, volunteers, civic, and local organizations.
Patient & Clinical Excellence:
Ensure a care delivery experience that exceeds patient and family expectations. Partner with clinical leadership to attract and retain top physicians.
Business Development & Public Relations:
Oversee business expansion, budgets, supply chain, capital spending, staff, and physician recruitment. Represent the hospital publicly to foster good relations.
Talent & Culture Development:
Develop a leadership pipeline, oversee recruitment, employment, development, and retention of staff. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and safety learning.
Regulatory Compliance:
Work with the Chief Integration Officer and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to standards set by JCAHO, AAMI, ANSI, OSHA, OIG, and others.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare administration required.
- Ten (10) years of progressive management experience in a mid to large-sized healthcare organization, with at least five (5) years in an executive leadership role.
- MBA or MHA preferred.
