The

General Manager (GM)

position is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall performance, safety, and strategic direction of three potash mining operations, including both underground and solution mining methods. This role encompasses full operational accountability for mining and processing activities, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and the development of site leadership teams. The GM ensures alignment with corporate goals while fostering a culture rooted in integrity, teamwork, safety, accountability, quality, and environmental stewardship.

Provide overall leadership for three potash/langbeinite mine sites, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable operations.

Oversee both underground mining and solution mining activities, as well as all associated processing plant, load out, and well field operations.

Manage the impacts of changing markets to quickly address company strategies regarding production requirements, operating expenses, capital needs, product inventory management, reclamation timing, workforce requirements, contractor/consultant utilization, and stakeholder obligations.

Ensure all operations comply with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations (MSHA, OSHA, EPA, BLM, NMED, etc.).

Lead and support site managers, technical staff, and processing personnel; foster a high-performance, accountable culture.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, efficiency, recovery rates, cost control, and environmental stewardship.

Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts; monitor KPIs and adjust plans accordingly.

Act as a liaison with corporate leadership, community stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and industry partners.

Implement best practices in mining, processing, and maintenance to enhance performance.

Develop succession plans and mentor high-potential employees.

Ensure emergency readiness and response plans are in place and tested regularly.

Oversee capital projects, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades across sites.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Geology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Minimum 15 years of progressive mining/milling experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Proven success managing multiple complex mining/milling operations, with a preference for underground and solution mining experience.

Strong knowledge of potash/langbeinite processing plant operations and well field operations (preferred).

Financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets.

Exceptional leadership, team-building, and interpersonal skills.

Experience working with regulatory agencies and maintaining compliance.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

Ability to travel frequently and oversee multiple sites.

Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and managing across jurisdictions (preferred).

Success in driving continuous improvement; familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma is a plus.

Knowledge of mine planning software and data-driven decision tools (preferred).

Physical Demands:

Ability to work in a mining environment, including underground conditions.

Capability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.

Travel to all operational sites as required.

A pre-employment physical and drug test are mandatory; employment is contingent upon clearance.
