A Day in the Life of a General Manager
As a General Manager, your time will be spent providing leadership for your teams. You are responsible for overall office sales, growth, and profitability. We are aggressive in our goals, and we will challenge you to perform at the highest levels.
You will focus on effective communication, coaching, training, development, and engagement with your team. You will provide great leadership for employee relations. Your open-door policy provides a constructive place for employees to go to resolve workplace issues and concerns. You will foster a positive labor/management relationship. Your high level of integrity, business ethics, and sound judgment are essential to your success in this management position.
Responsibilities:
Leads the development and implementation of short and long-term strategic objectives for assigned regions to maximize performance and profitability
Develops annual business plans for the branch/region to ensure alignment with corporate budget and goals
Reviews critical ongoing project information, including, but not limited to, budgets, timelines, and production
Assures the branch/region operates with consistency and complies with corporate processes and systems
Develops an annual strategic plan for regional office growth
Reviews invoices and accounts payable/receivable
Manages overall collections for the branch
Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control and waste reduction
Ensures maintenance of adequate job-related equipment and materials
Ensures job cost and procedures
Oversees operations team to ensure overall profitability, performance, and quality of work
Participates in the annual budgeting process
Accountable for the individual branch P/L performance
Responsible for branch-specific budget/margin fade or profit gain
Understands the estimated job cost to complete
Creates and manage sales and local marketing budgets
Responsible for performance/pay reviews and identifying key performers and underperformers
Identifies retention risks
Performs other related duties as assigned
Experience & Education :
Seven (7) or more years of industry-related experience
Three (3) or more years of progressive management or leadership experience
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent years of experience
