Senior Business Analyst – Taylor, TX (Hybrid)

Job Summary: The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, interpreting, and documenting customer business needs and translating them into application and operational requirements, use cases, and test cases. This role serves as the liaison between internal business units, external vendors, and software application development teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business, market, and project requirements through interviews, document analysis, workshops, and use cases.
• Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements, workflows, and test cases.
• Collaborate with project managers, executives, developers, testers, and subject matter experts to clarify and validate requirements.
• Evaluate existing business processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement sustainable, repeatable, and measurable process enhancements.
• Develop detailed use cases, test cases, and functional specifications to support the development and implementation of projects.
• Facilitate requirements management throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
• Provide expertise in business analysis practices and mentor junior analysts when required.
• Identify and escalate issues, risks, or obstacles that may impact project delivery or completion.
• Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support organizational goals.
• Exercise judgment and decision-making in complex scenarios, ensuring effective and creative solutions to business challenges.

Additional Duties

• Serve as the subject matter expert for the business analyst discipline.
• Partner with stakeholders to define business priorities and align initiatives with organizational strategy.
• Use business and financial acumen to support decision-making and maximize return on investment.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business and technical analysis.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in project management roles (preferred).
• Must have full lifecycle project experience (at least 2 completed end-to-end).
• Experience with both application development and infrastructure projects.
• Strong collaboration experience with PMs, developers, testers, and compliance/security teams.
• Demonstrated experience with technical writing, documentation, and requirements gathering.

Certifications (Preferred But Not Required)

• CBAP Certified Business Analysis Professional
• CCBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis
