Overview

Aloha! We are hiring for a Business Analyst Consultant to work on a Property Management System project. They will need prior software implementation project experience in a Business Analyst capacity and knowledge of SDLC. They will be onsite 4 days out of the week in Honolulu and remote 1 day.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit complex requirements (business, functional, non-functional, and technical) using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
  • Document and maintain requirements by performing requirements analysis and developing & specifying detailed requirements according to standard templates, using natural language. Populate business requirements into Request for Proposal format for the purpose of getting final bids from chosen vendor. Assess vendor proposals to determine if vendor's proposed solutions meet business requirements. Create testing artifacts/processes e.g. test plans, test scripts, test data, test defect tracker/reporting and end user sign off. Develop business process flows using Microsoft Visio. Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review business process flows to gain consensus on future state processes. This state may be a solution that is for an on-premise solution or a managed hosting solution in the cloud, managed by the selected vendor. This solution will include a comprehensive cost analysis working in conjunction with the Infrastructure team. Finalize business process flows. Assist with creation of training materials and project communications as needed for the next phase of the project, not in scope with this engagement. Finalize criteria for application implementation.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and requirements and deliver and maintain SDLC analysis artifact's as needed (including state diagrams, use cases, UI prototypes, entity relationship diagrams, data dictionaries, etc).
  • Collaborate with Land Information Systems Support (LIMS) team members and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and develop an understanding of business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals consistent with the chosen solution. Perform enterprise analysis to understand the needs of the business as a whole, its strategic direction and identify initiatives to enable the business to meet its strategic goals.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to develop recommendations for implementation of new systems, and, where appropriate, introduction of alternative computer hardware and software solutions. Assist users with streamlining of department automation by review current software and recommending appropriate changes. Review and evaluate users' department requests for system modification and recommend action/alternatives to appropriate management.
  • Establish partnership with stakeholders across the organization and act as liaison among the stakeholders for specific projects and operational tasks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $53.00/hr.
