Job Description
This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of the plant’s industrial electrical equipment. The electrician will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot PLC, VFDs, AC-DC Drives, and relay logic control systems.
- Perform control panel troubleshooting and wiring.
- Instruct co-workers on PLC/VFD/AC-DC Drive logic.
- Use a volt meter; check and replace fuses, motor starters, relays, pumps, motors, and AC-DC systems; troubleshoot faulty electric circuits.
- Assist the general maintenance crew with equipment rebuild, plant shutdowns, and new equipment installations.
- Perform and recommend alterations to preventive maintenance as more data is collected.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Assist all departments with breakdowns.
- Follow all safety requirements of this position.
- Perform daily maintenance sheets on all plant equipment as per worksheet.
- Scope may vary based on the size and complexity of the plant and equipment.
- Support CAPEX projects and activities as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical conduit, troubleshooting, and schematic reading.
- Experience with conduit bending, 480v systems, and three-phase motors.
- Expertise in PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, AC/DC, AC Drives, DC Drives, volt meter usage, and ladder logic.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2-year Technical degree in electrical or equivalent certification, which can also be achieved via military service, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Ability to move from one area to another by stepping over and/or bending under objects.
- Mobility to frequently enter and exit lift trucks.
- Capability to wear dust masks, earplugs, and face shields as necessary.
- Ability to climb ladders, listen to equipment, look for defects in products, and sense temperature changes in finished products.
- Ability to stand and walk long distances on the plant floor for 8 to 12 hours per shift and work around hot machinery.
- Physical strength to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs multiple times per shift.
- Experience working in environments exposed to external elements, such as hot and cold temperatures, and occasional loud noises.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
