As an HVAC Foreman, you'll oversee the installation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems on construction projects. You'll supervise a team of HVAC technicians and apprentices, coordinate with project managers and other trades, and ensure all work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with project specifications and code requirements.

Essential Job Functions Lead the daily activities of the HVAC crew, assigning tasks and monitoring progress. Review the Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) with the crew daily; ensure all safety and PPE requirements are met. Perform basic maintenance checks and inspections on job-related tools and equipment. Supervise and delegate job site tasks according to project plans and schedules. Review and interpret HVAC-specific plans, MEP drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate execution. Coordinate with GC Site Supervisors and other trades to avoid conflicts and ensure seamless workflow. Create accurate HVAC material lists and submit them ahead of time to avoid delays. Mobilize HVAC equipment and materials, and report any shortages, malfunctions, or issues. Conduct quality control checks to verify that installations meet specifications and code requirements. Submit daily Foreman Logs including photo documentation of the whiteboard and crew hours. Report field conditions, material status, RFIs, potential change orders, and safety incidents to PMs. Conduct daily toolbox talks and whiteboard planning sessions to align the crew on deliverables. Provide on-the-job training to apprentices and newer employees. Serve as the primary on-site contact for HVAC inspections, coordination, and field-level decision making. Maintain a clean, organized, and OSHA-compliant job site. Lead by example by performing HVAC installation, laborer, or related tasks as needed.

Required Skills and Experience Valid RI Journeyman Refrigeration, Pipefitter, or Sheet Metal license (state-specific requirement). Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership role as an HVAC Foreman in a commercial or construction setting. Strong understanding of HVAC codes, systems, tools, and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical layouts, and technical drawings. Excellent communication, organizational, and team management skills. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English to complete necessary paperwork and interact with clients, inspectors, and project teams. Valid driver's license in good standing with an acceptable driving record.

Working Conditions

Environment The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud Evening and/or early morning, and/or weekend/holiday hours periodically Will work both indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very cold to very hot and humid
