Join us as a Mid to Senior Level Software Engineer for our project at NIWC PAC. What You'll Do

• Innovate & Build: Design, develop, and maintain software solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible. You’ll work on rapid prototyping and technology deployment addressing urgent needs.
• Collaborate & Create: Partner with a dynamic team of engineers, project managers, and end-users to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Code with Excellence: Utilize Java and JavaScript to craft high-performance applications.
• Optimize & Solve: Implement algorithms and data structures to ensure performance and reliability.
• Review & Improve: Participate in code reviews and adhere to best practices.
• Troubleshoot & Innovate: Debug issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Document & Evolve: Keep records of development processes and code changes; stay updated on technologies to enhance capabilities.

What We're Looking For

• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position
• Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance, or eligible to obtain one
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Experience: 7+ years in software development (10+ preferred), with proficiency in Java and JavaScript
• Skills: Strong grasp of Agile and DevOps methodologies, experience with Git and issue tracking systems (GitLab, Jira), effective communication of complex technical concepts
• Traits: Independent and collaborative spirit, strong problem-solving skills, keen eye for detail

Bonus Points

• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift/OKD
• Experience with VMware virtualization
• Experience with CI/CD concepts (pipelines, automated testing, etc.)
• Experience with Linux (Red Hat preferred)
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles
• Background in defense or military software development
