Overview

This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair, installation, and replacement of electrical distribution systems (voltage 120/208, 480, single and three-phase), overhead and underground feeder lines, security and fire alarm and intrusion alarm systems, exterior and interior lighting systems, and all interior power systems and utilization equipment. Plan and order equipment and materials for all applicable work. Responsible for security of and supervision of inmates, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, repair, install, and replace electrical distribution systems and related infrastructure.
  • Oversee overhead and underground extension work and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Manage security and supervision of inmates, tools, and equipment as required.
  • Plan and order equipment and materials for all work on the above systems.
  • Ensure proper functioning of security, fire, and intrusion alarm systems and interior/exterior lighting.

Qualifications

  • Education: Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.
  • Experience: One year of electrical trade experience equivalent to an Electrician Licensed 9.
  • Licensure: Possession of a journeyman electrician's license.
