Position Description
We are seeking a proactive and community-focused Human Resources Specialist to support our growing manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone passionate about recruiting hourly talent, building strong community relationships, and developing workforce pipelines through strategic partnerships. The Specialist will work closely with plant leadership and the HR team to deliver core HR functions, with a strong emphasis on talent acquisition, community partnerships, and employer brand building.
Key Responsibilities
- Support full-cycle recruitment efforts, with a focus on attracting candidates in rural and hard-to-fill markets.
- Conduct phone screens and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth start for all employees.
- Assist in developing and maintaining training documentation and support the rollout of plant training programs.
- Build relationships with local organizations, workforce boards, and community leaders to promote the company as an employer of choice.
- Represent the company at job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Develop strategies to enhance brand recognition in the local labor market.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with local high schools, technical colleges, and universities.
- Collaborate on internship, co-op, and apprenticeship programs to attract emerging talent.
- Support initiatives that align educational programs with plant workforce needs.
Required Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 3+ years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change.
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
