Position Description
We are seeking a proactive and strategic HR Manager to lead the human resources function for our new manufacturing facility that will produce cooling and infrastructure products for data centers. This is a rare opportunity to be a part of a plant start-up from the ground up. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in recruiting and building the workforce, developing HR processes, establishing community partnerships, and laying the foundation for a high-performing and engaging work culture.
Key Responsibilities
Start-Up & Workforce Development:
- Lead all HR activities related to the start-up of a new manufacturing facility, including staffing strategy, recruitment, and onboarding.
- Develop and implement staffing plans to meet ramp-up schedules and production goals.
- Partner with hiring managers to source, screen, and select candidates for a variety of roles, from hourly to production to salaried staff.
- Establish strong partnerships with local high schools, trade schools, colleges, and workforce development organizations.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of entry-level and skilled candidates through community outreach, job fairs, internship/co-op/apprenticeship programs, and career awareness initiatives.
- Design and implement site-specific HR policies, procedures, and compliance programs in alignment with company standards and legal requirements.
- Serve as a culture Champion by fostering a positive, inclusive, and safety-first work environment.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
- Partner with leadership on compensation, benefits, and recognition programs to attract and retain talent.
- Establish systems and tools for tracking HR metrics, compliance, and employee engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience supporting or leading HR for a plant start-up or high-growth operation is strongly preferred.
- Strong recruiting and talent acquisition skills, especially in building hourly and skilled labor teams.
- Proven ability to build relationships with external partners such as schools and community organizations.
- In-depth knowledge of HR laws, policies, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on, and constantly evolving environment.
