What You’ll Do

  • Assess and recommend hardware and software configurations; install and maintain PC hardware, software and vendor-provided systems. Systems may include other computer hardware and networking equipment.
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and provide technical assistance to end users and technical staff.
  • Communicate procedures and solutions effectively to users at all levels of experience in a professional manner.
  • Inspect PC equipment, set up and test PCs and peripherals (monitors, keyboards, printers, wireless accessories); prepare PCs for delivery and installation at user work centers or shop floors.
  • Install, maintain and support operating system software, determine errors, and apply corrections as necessary.
  • Provide first and second level troubleshooting; use ticketing software to document and escalate issues to additional support teams.
  • Maintain good working relationships with manufacturing vendors and support providers; coordinate vendor representatives during system maintenance or upgrades.
  • Diagnose system hardware, software, and operator problems; perform remedial actions to correct problems based on knowledge of system operations.
  • Collaborate with IT management to deliver appropriate levels of customer service based on customer needs.
  • Support remote users across the corporate environment using remote-control software.
  • Practice effective time management and prioritization of tasks; work with IT teams across Networks, Programming, Systems, and Analysis for issue resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and follow policies and procedures for identifying, documenting, assigning, and correcting problems.
  • Attend technical conferences and formal training to stay current with new hardware and software developments.
  • Provide mentorship for new employees and incumbents in the support department.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for external and internal customers regarding software and hardware configuration.
  • Act as a point of contact for outside queries regarding general IT support and troubleshooting.
  • Be able to work flexible hours to assist with computer maintenance and upgrades.

What You Should Have

  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2-year/Associate degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Windows, and iOS.
  • Must be able to travel 10% of the time between Shelby, Kings Mountain, and Marion, NC.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation for this role includes base salary along with the opportunity to earn additional variable compensation based on performance metrics. The starting base pay range for this position is $65,859 - $75,179, and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
