CHILDCARE SITE COORDINATOR YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES OFFICE CITY OF WORCESTER

The City of Worcester is seeking qualified applicants for a

Childcare

Site Coordinator for the Division of Youth Opportunities (DYO) within the Department of Health and Human Services. Under the direction of the Childcare Program Coordinator, the position will work within the Youth Opportunities Office for the Worcester Cares 4 Kids (WC4K) Babysitting program. The position will assist in the coordination and supervision of the virtual WC4K programming, curriculum, and staff professional development. Responsibilities will include communicating with families about virtual WC4K programming, schedule online classes, and data entry. Additionally, the position will coordinate with the Youth Opportunities staff to support partnering community organizations to assist in the enrichment of the virtual program. This position will require both in office and remote hours. This is a temporary position through 12/19/25 with a potential extension to be determined at a later date.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS:

Facilitate a positive and supportive environment to encourage youth engagement during all the virtual trainings.

Host virtual youth group and facilitate discussions around Worcester Cares 4 Kids Babysitting program curriculum.

Work effectively with program youth and families to achieve program outcomes.

Manage virtual and in-person CPR classrooms to ensure youth engagement and participation.

Deliver existing curriculum content in virtual presentations.

Work with Childcare Program Coordinator manage and deliver all aspects of the virtual babysitting program.

Interact and build relationships with participants, parents or guardians, community partners, and youth in achieving program objectives.

Provide assistance to families with connecting them with resources if necessary.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Effective organizational skills including the ability to think clearly and logically

Strong desire and ability to support and supervise youth participants

Experience with program management of OST (out of school time) activities

Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations, organizations, and interests

Ability to work collaboratively with community partners and families; to work with students with special educational or emotional needs

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; to be flexible, timely, and to multitask

Ability to build relationships and networking skills with students, colleagues, and community members through video conferencing platforms

Ability to work under minimal supervision; to provide and receive constructive feedback

Ability to work up to twenty (20) hours per week

Ability to work remotely and in-person

Ability to pass a Cori/Sori background check

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Associate Degree in human services or other related field, OR:

An equivalent combination of education & two (2) years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the required duties of the position will be considered in lieu of the above-mentioned requirement.

Experience in a clerical or administrative role

Experience with staff or participant supervision

Experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities

Must pass a criminal background check (CORI & SORI)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One (1) year of experience working with children and families from diverse cultural, socioeconomic backgrounds and abilities

One (1) year of experience with staff or participant supervision

One (1) year experience in a clerical or administrative role

One (1) year experience facilitating OST activities

Experience working with Google Drive

SALARY:

$17.50 hourly, part-time, temporary, non-benefitted.
