Position Overview Nationwide IT Services, NIS, is seeking an experienced

Specialist, Quality Control III,

for a potential opportunity to provide expert-level quality control support for US Navy Navigation equipment and systems. The successful candidate will apply advanced technical knowledge and hands-on expertise to ensure products, services, and processes meet rigorous quality and safety standards. This is a

key

position requiring recognized leadership in the field.

Minimum Experience & Qualifications

5+ years

of professional experience solving complex technical problems. Formal training in engineering and/or software design/maintenance. Practical understanding of engineering concepts and processes. Proven ability to ensure products, services, and procedures comply with

quality and safety standards . Experience testing equipment to confirm operational effectiveness and safety. Ability to

interpret plans and drawings

and contribute to the

design and fabrication

of test specimens. Proficiency in

computer-aided drafting (CAD)

for preparing shop drawings for model construction. Familiarity with

material specifications

and

fabrication methods .

Specific Experience

Hands-on expertise with

US Navy Navigation equipment and systems , demonstrating leadership in at least

three (3)

of the following four (4) areas:

Systems Requirements Operational Requirements Test & Evaluation Training

Recognized industry or public service

expert

in US Navy Navigation equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct quality inspections, tests, and evaluations on navigation systems and related equipment. Collaborate with engineering teams to review plans, drawings, and specifications for compliance and accuracy. Develop and prepare shop drawings, fabrication models, and test specimens. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff on quality standards and processes. Document and report test results, identifying areas for process improvement. Ensure compliance with all

Navy standards , safety regulations, and project requirements.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with Navy acquisition and lifecycle processes. Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and government-contractor teams.
