Overview:

Live Comfortably is seeking a visionary Merchandising Director to lead and inspire our Merchandising Team. The ideal candidate will pair deep customer insight with strategic thinking, intuition, and taste to create bold, revenue-generating product assortments and strategies that expand market share and strengthen brand desirability.

This senior-level role will own the overarching assortment strategy, lead the merchandising roadmap, and guide the team in developing, launching, and optimizing products across multiple categories. You will provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the merchandising function, ensuring executional excellence and alignment with the company's growth, profitability, and brand goals.

This individual will serve as the central leader of the Merchant team, collaborating cross-functionally with Planning, Product Development, Creative, Marketing, Digital, and Wholesale teams to bring customer-inspired product assortments to market. You will act as a thought leader and key voice of the customer, helping shape business decisions and creative strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy Set the vision and direction for the merchandising function, translating company objectives into actionable product and assortment strategies. Lead, develop, and mentor the Merchandising Team to build a high-performing, collaborative, and innovative function. Champion a culture of data-driven decision-making, fostering an environment where insights, creativity, and analytics combine to deliver winning assortments. Serve as the voice of merchandising in senior leadership discussions, providing strategic input on assortment, pricing, and growth initiatives. Merchandising Execution

Own the global assortment plan for assigned brands across all channels, ensuring that product launches are strategically aligned with business objectives. Guide the creation of compelling product roadmaps, using analysis, market trends, and consumer research to inform category strategies and new product development opportunities. Direct pricing and margin strategies to achieve financial objectives and strengthen profitability. Oversee product lifecycle management, including SKU rationalization and in-market product optimization to maximize performance and productivity. Market & Consumer Insights

Maintain expert knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to inform strategy and ensure brand competitiveness. Share industry insights and inspiration across cross-functional teams to guide creative development and go-to-market strategies. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Planning, Product Development, and Go-to-Market teams to deliver assortments that delight customers, enhance brand expression, and achieve financial targets. Collaborate with Marketing, Digital, and Wholesale teams to ensure that assortment strategies are effectively communicated and executed across all customer touchpoints. Core Competencies:

Team Development: Track record of building, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams. Business Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of retail math, pricing strategy, and product profitability drivers. Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, Textile Science, or related field preferred. 8+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, or category management, preferably in textiles, home goods, or consumer products. 3+ years of people management experience with demonstrated success developing and leading teams. Proven experience owning product assortments, pricing strategies, and retail strategy at a senior level. Strong analytical skills with proficiency in leveraging data to drive decision-making. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities with agility and decisiveness. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with ERP software (NetSuite preferred). Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
