Program Overview
Beacon's Leadership Development Program is designed to cultivate leadership talent through executive coaching and hands-on development, creating a pipeline for leadership positions within the health system. The program consists of four six-month rotations that align with Beacon's strategic goals, enhancing leadership and management skills through mentorship, business acumen, and experiential learning. Primary Responsibilities Comprehensive Orientation to Beacon Health System: Gain exposure to staff and operational functions through rotational assignments and projects. Understand regulatory requirements, community influences, and external factors impacting hospital operations. Establish and maintain relationships with department heads, administration, and medical staff. Participate in Medical Staff, management, and governing board functions and meetings. Project-Oriented Work and Operational Support: Conduct research, analysis, and evaluations on hospital-wide and interdepartmental operations. Investigate patient complaints and provide recommendations for resolution. Assist in strategic planning for short- and long-term organizational goals. Support financial analyses and cost projections in collaboration with the Finance Department. Analyze internal products/services against national data and recommend improvements. Conduct surveys to assess competitiveness and productivity measures. Assist with activities related to organizational problem-solving. Respond to routine inquiries from administration and provide informational support. Support Medical Staff initiatives as needed. Additional Responsibilities: Participate in hospital administration-related organizations. Complete job-related projects and duties as assigned. Organizational Responsibilities Attend department meetings and remain accountable for shared information. Complete mandatory education, annual competencies, and department-specific training within required timeframes. Maintain required licensure/certification and complete annual employee health requirements. Follow safety protocols, including universal precautions, protective equipment usage, and ergonomic techniques. Adhere to all regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and organizational policies. Be available for overtime or additional shifts as needed. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field required. Master's Degree preferred or must be obtained within three years of hire. Previous internship or administrative experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong analytical skills for planning and operational improvement. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication and relationship management. Strong verbal and written communication abilities for reporting and presentations. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Office environment with interaction among Board members, hospital leadership, medical staff, patients, families, consultants, and community agencies. Requires physical ability and stamina to perform essential job functions.
