Here’s what the opportunity supported through our TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) Talent Acquisition Team requires:

Position Overview

One North is seeking a Senior Product Designer with deep expertise in UX/UI as well as advanced proficiency in Figma and design systems. This individual will thrive in a variety of work environments—from being embedded within client teams, to consulting with clients on digital product redesigns, to leading the development and evolution of client design systems.

This individual should bring both breadth and depth—someone who can move seamlessly between UX/UI design challenges, design systems, and digital platforms with a high level of craft, curiosity, and vision. As part of our multidisciplinary Design team, the Senior Product Designer will lead design efforts across mobile and web products as well as enterprise design systems.

While many of our clients initially seek traditional product design support, we know their long-term success often depends on going a step further—establishing scalable, maintainable design systems. This role requires someone who can not only meet immediate product design needs but also advocate for and implement design system thinking. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience architecting systems from the ground up, creating robust component libraries, defining governance models, and partnering closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless design-to-code alignment.

The Senior Product Designer should be fluent in Figma’s advanced features and familiar with related tools such as Zeroheight, Knapsack, Tokens Studio, and/or Gradial. Strong documentation capabilities, a proactive mindset, and the ability to drive adoption across cross-functional teams are essential to helping our clients succeed beyond the brief.

This role will ideally be based in the Chicago area, but we are open to remote locations across the U.S. and Canada.

Responsibilities

• Produce highly polished screen designs that follow UX and UI best practices

• Participate in working sessions with clients and present original work

• Work closely with other disciplines to translate their deliverables (e.g., research outcomes, brand platforms, wireframes, etc.) into designs

• Openness to feedback from Managers, Directors, and colleagues from other disciplines

• Lead the creation and evolution of enterprise-grade design systems that scale across products and platforms—including UI kits, documentation, governance models, and component libraries

• Build and maintain advanced Figma libraries using best practices for auto layout, variables, interactive components, and design tokens

• Leverage existing design systems to accelerate product design workflows, while identifying gaps and creating specialized libraries when needed

• Ensure Figma workspaces, files, and libraries are optimized, organized, and aligned with system architecture and brand standards

• Audit and refactor components to improve usability, accessibility, performance, and consistency across platforms

• Prototype and test new patterns or components before integrating them into the broader system

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including product, engineering, and research—to ensure the product and system meets evolving business and user needs

When packing your bags, please bring:

• Deep understanding of design fundamentals and digital product experiences

• Expert command of Figma and its advanced features, such as Auto Layout, Variables, DevMode, Advanced Prototyping

• Curiousity around AI tools related to product design and design systems

• Experience and passion for UX/UI designs

• Familiarity with design systems and comfort in leveraging them for new interface designs

• Expertise for how to translate desktop designs to tablet and mobile screens

• Solid understanding for design implications around WCAG accessibility requirements

• The ability to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment with design, client services, strategy, and technology teams

• High-quality execution of work in all areas

• Being a self-starter and pushing the vision for our clients

• Passion for digital design and staying up to date on the latest tech and trends

• Experience working in an Agile process

• Understanding of various inquiry methods such as usability testing

Your weapons (wield them wisely):

• 5 or more years of design experience in an in-house product or design systems team, consultancy, or agency

• Work examples that demonstrate high-fidelity designs, strategic design thinking, and complex problem solving

• Exceptional visual design skills (e.g., typography, color, layout)

• Advanced skills in Figma

• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JS, and responsive design (coding is not a requirement)

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Eye for detail and high personal standards

• Dedication to following industry best practices and trends

• Required: A strong portfolio demonstrating a variety of UX/UI and hands-on design systems work
