This multifaceted role involves acting as a Data Analyst, System Analyst, and Business Analyst across various projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with fraud engineers, data scientists, and operational analysts to build scalable data pipelines, support real-time monitoring, and contribute to the development of advanced fraud models. You will be expected to become a subject matter expert (SME) in banking information and fraud-related data domains, leveraging technologies such as data lakes, Databricks, and cloud-based analytics platforms.

The Data Analyst will:

  • Work within a SAFe Agile team to build and maintain a Continuous Delivery Data Pipeline.

  • Take ownership of the SDLC process, managing work quality and quantity through frequent releases, and closely coordinate with data engineers, modelers, product owners, and other information analysts.

  • Analyze and map system data into the operational or integrated data warehouse or big data platform to meet reporting and analytical business needs.

  • Test and validate data attributes based on source data and results from other systems to ensure accuracy.

  • Create and maintain clear, detailed, and accurate metadata documentation for data integration processes and data flows.

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data integration and data warehousing.

  • Lead small projects and teams to develop solutions for our customers, working with the modeling and architecture team and business analysts across multiple departments.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the banking industry, loan and deposit systems, regulatory reporting requirements, or experience with data warehouses, data lakes, and common data models.

  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages (SQL, Python, PySpark).

  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to estimate scope and schedule and commit to deadlines.

  • Effective presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with management, peers, and technical staff.

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Analytics, Data Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years’ experience in data analysis, operations support, software development, project management, or related fields, with a strong focus on fraud detection technologies and data-driven risk mitigation. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehousing and analytics platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse), as well as big data ecosystems including data lakes and Databricks.

  • Familiarity with fraud analytics, anomaly detection models, and real-time data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka) is highly desirable.

  • Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in fraud prevention, transaction monitoring, or compliance analytics, is a strong plus.
