Job Description Are you ready to dive into the fascinating world of court history and preservation? The Alaska Court System's Archives and Central Services Division (ACS) is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-loving Assistant Clerk to join their team!
This grant-funded position is set to run for at least three years
and offers a great opportunity to work hands-on with important documents from across the state. As part of the role, you'll receive case files from statewide courts, organize and prepare them for digital scanning and microfilming, and help preserve permanent court records. You'll get to mend pages, create target sheets, index records, and even make audio copies when needed. Quality control is a key part of the job-you'll conduct audits and help determine which documents are kept and which can be securely destroyed. The position also involves lifting boxes up to 35 pounds and keeping up with production schedules. The Work Hours Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. Work hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Exceptional Benefits for Full-Time Employees

Minimum Qualifications A high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate AND six months of general clerical or customer service work experience.
Substitution: Additional qualifying work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
A bachelor's degree may substitute for the required six months of general clerical or customer service work experience; or completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as business college may be substituted for the required six months of general clerical or customer service work experience on a month-for-month basis.
