Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess and demonstrate the following qualifications:
Knowledge of electronic medical records, care delivery documentation systems and related medical record documents.
Documented Training in Medical Record Confidentiality & Release of Information
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and appropriately prioritize in a time sensitive environment.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
A team player with an attitude of service and alignment with Orchard Hospital's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Computer competency in MS office products; Word, Excel, Outlook, Share Point, etc.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
Licenses/Certification:
RHIT/RHIA preferred. Experience: Previous HIM department experience specific to ROI.
II. Job Requirements (20% of Evaluation Score) Maintains log of all release of information requests Coordinates release of information requests for all medical records Prepares records for release using federal and state guidelines Coordinates activities with copy service vendors Checks authorizations for validity and determines if release of health information is appropriate Effectively utilizes the hospital's computer Information system(s) Retrieve and file documents in medical records using the terminal digit filing system Assists with purging records Copies charts as requested for STAT transfers Copies charts as requested for Business Office and Utilization Review Manage Nuance Dictation workflow and user setup Primary person to receive telephone calls in HIM and respond to numerous ROI requests for information to be sent electronically across various digital mediums
