Position Overview
A leading manufacturer is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join its production team in Fulton, IL. The Industrial Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe operations, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
A leading manufacturer is seeking an Industrial Electrician to join its production team in Fulton, IL. The Industrial Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in a heavy industrial environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring safe operations, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical equipment, wiring, PLCs, and control systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant electrical systems, machinery, and production lines.
- Diagnose electrical malfunctions and implement solutions in a timely and safe manner.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and applicable electrical codes.
- Assist in training operators and maintenance staff on equipment operation and safety practices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician, Electrical Technician, or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, and motor controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting under pressure.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Work Environment: Heavy manufacturing facility; exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to stand, climb, and work in confined spaces; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Schedule: 2nd, shift depending on business needs; overtime and weekends as required.
