Staffmark is hiring a Machine Operator in Houston, TX. If you have mechanical aptitude, enjoy hands-on work, and are looking to join a stable company with growth potential, we want to hear from you!
Pay: $16/hour
Schedule: 1st Shift
Responsibilities:
Operate manual machines to produce quality parts per specifications
Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
Change jigs/fixtures with minimal assistance
Perform basic preventive maintenance on equipment
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all safety policies and use proper PPE
Work overtime as needed
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
At least 1 year of machining or manufacturing experience
Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
Familiarity with hand and power tools
Able to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding positions (bending, squatting, standing, ladder use)
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) preferred
