Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule Night Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Monday - Friday, with every other weekend and holidays as needed. On-call required.
Job Description The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.
Responsibilities
Performs complex CT procedures and utilizes professional judgment when reviewing and obtaining patient clinical histories.
Prepares, screens, and reviews the accuracy of contrast questionnaires and documents them into the system.
Identifies and/or administers contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
Reviews patient prescriptions for exam appropriateness and communicates with radiologists and referring physicians as necessary.
Responsible for verifying insurance authorized exam scripts and obtaining outside studies for proper comparison.
Provides exam copies to patients and ensuring all information is available for radiologist review.
Evaluates radiographs using PACS to ensure diagnostic value and proper identification.
Preps patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization devices.
Monitors patients for any adverse reactions during procedures and handles any questions or concerns.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Minimum of 2 years of CT experience on Siemens equipment.
NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
ARRT Certified R.T.(R) license required.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within three months of hire date.
Team members must achieve ARRT (CT) certification within the twelve months following their hire date.
