Job Title: Engineer Software

Location(s): Reston, VA

Description:

• Work directly with architect, principal and lead engineer, and other team members on design and implementation tasks.
• Plan and build roadmaps for the EKS and AWS DevOps implementation.
• Build applications with EKS and AWS best practices.
• Accountable for meeting milestones.
• Conduct code reviews, unit and integration testing.
• Document system design and unit testing information.
• Automate manual steps.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience with EKS and AWS.
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting.
• Experience with Cloudbees, BitBucket, Sonar, Artifactory, and CloudNative practices. Broad knowledge of development and testing best DevSecOps practices.
• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration (CI), Testing (CT), Security, and Deployment (CD) concepts. Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
• Apply engineering principles to improve resiliency, performance, efficiency, and scalability of the DevSecOps ecosystem.
• Identify opportunities and build automation to reduce team interdependency.
• Linux and Windows administration skills.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Self-starter and quick learner.
• Willing to participate in on-call rotation.

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Use the DevOps Scoring Framework to improve DevOps and Product Maturity Index scores for delivery teams.
• Build applications leveraging EKS and CloudNative concepts and deploy in production.
• Retrospect on current implementations and document for future reference.
• Manage AWS and EKS operations.
• Utilize Cloud Native tools.
• Administer AWS console where Cloudbees agents exist on EC2 instances.
