Graphic Designer role at CHATTANOOGA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL – Full-time, Exempt, 40 hours/week, 12 months. Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications.

Position Overview
The Graphic Designer serves as the lead designer for the Marketing & Communications team, producing high-quality creative work across print and digital platforms. The role stewardships CCS’s visual identity, ensures design excellence, and delivers projects aligned with the school’s mission. The Designer combines hands-on execution with ownership of projects and collaborates with colleagues to deliver polished communications.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Design leadership & brand stewardship: Develops and produces creative assets for marketing, admissions, advancement, athletics, and school-wide communications; upholds CCS’s brand identity; serves as primary designer for campaigns, publications, digital media, and event branding; refines and maintains brand guidelines; oversees visual quality and cohesion of all deliverables including photography and video integration.
- Project management & collaboration: Manages multiple design projects from concept to final delivery, ensures deadlines and goals are met; collaborates with the Marketing Manager to translate messaging strategies into effective, mission-aligned design; works directly with departments to deliver tailored design solutions; coordinates with external vendors and printers; provides design consultation across the school; approves major visual assets before public use.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of CCS
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field
- 5+ years of professional design experience (agency, higher ed, nonprofit, or corporate marketing/communications)
- Strong portfolio showcasing branding, print, digital, and cross-platform design
- Ability to independently manage complex creative projects
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom)
- Excellent typography, layout, and visual detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in K–12 or nonprofit communications
- Knowledge of branding for fundraising or admissions campaigns
- Familiarity with directing or integrating photography and video into design projects

- Visual brand systems and guidelines
