Accountant Job at Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in Binghamton

Peoplelink Staffing is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant in partnership with a client within the manufacturing field in Binghamton, NY. The ideal person will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and the ability to work independently.

Job Summary:
Pay: $60K - $67K
Shift: Monday - Friday: 7:00am - 5:00pm

Accountant Position Duties:

• Prepare daily cash reports for all entities.
• Manage and maintain financial records
• Assist with month-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Approve purchase requisitions in alignment with company policy
• Monitor aging reports to ensure timely collections; resolve overdue accounts
• Support cross-functional departments with financial reporting and analysis
• Review monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements for accuracy
• Maintain general ledger and perform accounts receivable functions
• Prepare and complete bank reconciliations
• File paid/unpaid invoices and statements in an organized and timely manner
• Respond to vendor and customer inquiries professionally and promptly
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

Accountant Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/ GED
• Associate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience required
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Strong knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
