Facility: University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton Location: 219 S Washington St, Easton, MD 21601 Start Date: October 20, 2025 End Date: 18 weeks contract (earliest end date: January 10, 2026; extensions possible up to 26 weeks) Duration: 18-26 weeks Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Hours: 36 or 48 hours/week (both accepted)
Position Overview
University of Maryland Shore Medical Center is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment. This role involves caring for critically ill adult and geriatric patients with a variety of complex conditions in a fast-paced, acute care setting. The unit requires flexibility to float within specialty and lower acuity areas as needed. Holiday and weekend coverage are required as scheduled. Certifications & Requirements
Active MD RN License or Compact License – Required BLS (AHA) – Required ACLS – Required NIHSS – Required CPI certification – Required (on-site during orientation) Flu vaccine (2025-2026) – Required, no exemptions CPI online training accepted from “Calm Every Storm” vendor only Experience Required
Minimum 2 years ICU experience required (critical care) Previous charge nurse experience preferred Experience in teaching, community, LTAC, Trauma Level I & II hospitals preferred Travel experience not required, first-time travelers accepted Skills & Competencies
Patient ratio: 1:2 (days, nights, weekends) IV therapy skills including access and management of ports, arterial lines, PICC lines Respiratory care including ventilator management, chest tube assistance, CPAP/BiPAP management Neurological care including EVD management, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy care Cardiac monitoring and management including dysrhythmias, IABP, Swan-Ganz catheter Renal care including CRRT/CVVHD Medications: sedation, paralytics, cardiac drips, emergency meds Infection prevention, phlebotomy, wound care skills Ability to float within the specialty and lower acuity areas without restrictions Facility / Unit Details
Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital Unit Beds: 10 Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics Daily Census: 8 patients average Patient Ratios: 1:2 consistently Floating: Required within specialty and lower acuity units Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required Holidays: Coverage required as scheduled Interdisciplinary Support: IV Teams, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services
