POSITION OVERVIEW The Tax Manager will lead tax compliance, reporting, and strategy across a multi-entity organization. This role is responsible for accurate and timely filings, developing effective tax strategies, and identifying opportunities for optimization. The Tax Manager will work closely with finance, accounting, and operational leaders to support business initiatives across the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax filings. Manage tax provisions, deferred tax
assets/liabilities,
and related financial statement disclosures. Develop strategies that optimize the companys tax position while balancing risk. Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations; evaluate and communicate potential business impacts. Handle compliance with sales tax, excise tax, and other indirect tax obligations relevant to the automotive, insurance, and financing sectors. Partner with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities as needed. Advise cross-functional teams on tax considerations for new products, transactions, and business initiatives. Direct tax planning for multi-entity structures, including intercompany transactions. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, promoting technical expertise and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced tax qualification preferred. Extensive experience in tax compliance, reporting, and planning within a corporate environment. Strong understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws, with experience navigating multi-entity organizations. Familiarity with tax considerations in industries such as automotive, insurance, or financial services is highly valued. Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop strategies, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Proficiency with tax software and ERP/accounting systems
