Associate Counsel - Franchising Job Location:
Chicago, IL - Hybrid with 3 days in the office Job Type:
Contract (3-month duration) 40 hours per week This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. No Corp to Corp or 3rd party agencies. Responsibilities
Draft, review, and process franchise agreements, leases, and new terms for existing franchisees. Work closely with a coordinator who prepares franchise documents; review, provide feedback, and coordinate sign-off with the contract attorney. Manage a high volume of documentation and ensure processing is completed timely and accurately. Follow up with business teams to clarify items such as rent and franchise fees. Support and maintain relationships with existing franchisees. Work within internal franchise management systems and MS Office Suite, including Access. Consistently complete tasks on schedule in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Qualifications
Attorney with 4+ years of experience with franchising, contracts, and transactional law Ability to interpret and apply franchise policies to individual situations and transactions, draft and manage a variety of agreements with careful attention to detail and provide pragmatic and effective legal advice that advances the objectives of the business Strong technical expertise, including transactional experience, and knowledge of the US legal system and laws Strong people skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals both inside and outside the company Results oriented to ensure that business objectives are met and comply with all laws and regulations Self-starter, organized, deadline driven, and able to manage workload at a fast pace Proficiency using Microsoft 365 products including Microsoft Access
