Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Mobility & Surveillance (M&S) division is seeking a Production & Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team located in Tukwila, WA. The ideal candidate will lead a diverse team composed of manufacturing engineers and planners tasked with unique special projects throughout the company due to their specialized skills. Lead employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering. A team of tooling engineers, manufacturing engineers and planners that directly support the BDS M&S aircraft production, modification, and test activities. Maintain a strong connection with design engineering and manufacturing operations to ensure that the team's products and services are meeting the needs of the consumer. Motivate and develop team members; apply talent management standard methodologies to help people attain their career goals. Develop and implement project and process plans, policies and procedures, and set operational goals. Develop and lead innovation projects to improve factory safety, quality, and / or efficiency. Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements. Monitor team assignments for compliance to first-time quality, technical requirements, processes, customer requirements, and scheduling constraints. Participate in and / or lead M&S division or program level production engineering special projects as required. Provide guidance and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. As a leader, set high expectations for the team; manage, develop, and motivate employees. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and team members.

Typical working hours will be during day shift, but off-shift coverage, including weekends, may occasionally be required due to a multi-shift production system.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience): Bachelor of Science from an accredited program in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience): Excellent communications skills, verbal and written. Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners. Master of Science in an engineering discipline. Previous management experience. Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust. Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes. Experience leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams. Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance. Ability to up‑level existing team by hiring high performance talent, growing leaders and helping underperforming members. Ability to gain trust of the team and provide guidance for their careers.

Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for eligible internal candidates. Total Rewards & Pay Transparency: Elements of the Total Rewards package include competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Eligible employees may enroll in a variety of benefit programs; details vary by location and eligibility. Summary pay range: $138,550 - $187,450 Applications for this position will be accepted until Sept. 26, 2025 Export Control Requirements: This position must meet export control compliance requirements. A "U.S. Person" is required as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15. Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Required Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.
