Description Exciting leadership opportunity to manage a talented team of construction underwriters, blending strategic vision, strong leadership, and deep technical expertise to drive meaningful impact across the portfolio. As Senior Underwriting Manager, you will guide and develop this high-performing group, foster trusted relationships internally and with brokers and partners, and make critical underwriting decisions that shape our portfolio’s longer-term success. This role focuses on building upon the team’s achievements, cultivating a culture of excellence, and delivering consistent and predictable growth in a fast-evolving insurance industry. Responsibilities

Drives a culture of underwriting excellence across entire portfolio. Drives change initiatives within the team. Maintains a visible external profile and excellent relationships with external brokers/agents, partners and stakeholders, leveraging these relationships to help the team achieve their goals and expand their own networks. Acts as a point of escalation/referral on particularly tricky or novel underwriting decisions. Upholds Liberty’s value proposition across the business and market. May cover for manager where required. Accountable for the performance of a portfolio (or part thereof) within a sub-segment of business underwritten by the team. Specific technical responsibilities (e.g., related to planning, portfolio management, marketing, product development etc.) will differ in different parts of GRS. May continue underwriting specific policies and delivering the work of an Underwriter. Qualifications

Degree in Business or equivalent typically required A minimum of 10 years progressive underwriting experience expected, including a minimum of 2 years of proven underwriting management experience, preferred CRIS, CPCU, or professional insurance designation preferred Proven analytical ability to evaluate high impact underwriting risks within scope of responsibility Demonstrated ability to communicate complex analyses and information Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with internal and external partners required Strong leadership skills, development of people, strategic thinking, portfolio management and profitable growth, communication, decision-making, results orientation, problem-solving, coaching and mentoring, and negotiating skills Pay and Benefits Liberty Mutual Insurance provided pay range: This range is provided by Liberty Mutual Insurance. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Base pay range:

$106,000.00/yr - $322,000.00/yr Additionally:

The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by skills, experience, education, certifications and location; full salary range reflects market value and may include compensation plans with commission and/or bonus earnings based on factors in the plan.
