Description

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 12 correctionalfacilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of DOC is to protect the citizens of theCommonwealth and to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for staff and offenders in carrying out themandates of the legislative and judicial processes; and, to provide opportunities for offenders to acquireskills which facilitate non-criminal behavior.

The Electrician Licensed Supervisor at Little Sandy Correctional Complex superviseselectricians and performs electrical work of all types; and performs other duties as required.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Supervises the work of electricians and trainees involved in the installation and repair of electricalsystems, appliances and motors.
• Inspects electrical wiring and fixtures for defects according to the electrical code. Checks for viola-tions of current electrical code and reports to proper authorities.
• Determines proper material and equipment for use by subordinates.
• Diagnoses problems with electrical systems.
• Installs and repairs electrical systems, appliances and motors.
• Runs conduits for telephones and electric circuits. Installs and services public address systems.
• Keeps records of electrical projects, work time records, etc.
• Checks and makes minor repairs to generators.
