Overview

Lead IT Cybersecurity Specialist role at Air Force Civilian Service. This is a full-time position as a LEAD IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) (NH-2210-03) to work at Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC) – Hill AFB, Utah.

Base pay range: $88,621.00/yr - $137,000.00/yr.

Responsibilities

  • To provide Lead IT support for technical analysis and development of Information Assurance Systems to be used in the organization.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Obtain & maintain Security clearance
  • This may be a designated Drug Testing Position
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
  • Knowledge of agency and local computer systems security requirements in sufficient depth to advise on modifying and adapting existing security approaches to meet special requirements
  • Knowledge of current automated information systems security developments as they relate to hardware, systems software, telecommunications, and systems design and development techniques to provide advice and guidance on issues such as alternative security packages, their acquisition, and use
  • Knowledge of DoD and agency policies, procedures, regulations, directives and requirements related to information security
  • Knowledge of agency information processing standards, policies, and procedures to analyze and advise managers on systems security matters and evaluate the need for changes in existing policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of equipment characteristics, computer techniques, requirements, methods and procedures to include familiarity with approaches used by organizations in other agencies and/or the private sector to evaluate alternatives and provide advice and assistance to managers
  • Knowledge of agency and local computer systems security requirements in sufficient depth to advise on and implement environmental control measures, risk assessment and quantitative justification of physical security controls, backup and recovery for the data processing installation and telecommunications systems, and contingency planning for events ranging from fault disruption to disaster recovery
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to COMSEC equipment
  • Knowledge of the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Configuration Management
  • Ability to communicate effectively either orally or in writing

Additional Requirements

  • Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoDM 8140.03, para 4.2.a.(2), requires foundational qualification requirements within 9 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role and resident qualification requirements within 12 months of assignment to a cyberspace work role. A waiver of this six months requirement may be granted per DoDM 8140.03. Failure to receive and maintain the proper IA certification may result in removal from this position.
  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
