$67,000 - $74,000 Position Description: The Senior Program Manager, Academic Programs is responsible for overseeing the execution and planning of academic programs, ensuring high-quality participant experiences and program operations in the organization’s tailored workforce and career readiness programs. Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Senior Program Manager will lead a team of program managers in implementing programs, coordinating logistics, and providing direct support to participants. The Senior Program Manager provides strategic counsel, makes key decisions, and oversees day-to-day program activities, ensuring all programs adhere to TWC’s values and enhance participants’ experience, learning, and workforce readiness. The role also involves working closely with internal and external partners to ensure seamless program delivery and continuous improvement. The Washington Center is a remote/hybrid organization with most employees working approximately one day per week at our Residential and Academic Facility near Union Station in NoMa, Washington, DC. Due to our focus on skills development and workforce collaboration, some cross-departmental work may require more in-office days. Candidates should reside in the greater Washington, DC area. Essential Functions
(listed in order of importance): Job Function Importance (%): Leadership & Team Management Manage and support the team of program managers in executing short-term and semester-long academic programs. Oversee components of in-person and hybrid program delivery. Contribute to training and professional development of the program management team. Oversee creation of deliverables and outgoing communication from the Academic Program team. Provide mentorship, coaching, and guidance to program managers to fulfill their potential and align with program goals. Ensure accuracy and adherence to program requirements. Manage fulfillment of contractual obligations with partners. Oversee and actively manage a caseload of students as needed. 40% Stakeholder Management Assist the Director in providing excellent customer service to clients including federal agencies, travel and housing companies, students, and university officials. Plan and lead regular check-ins and meetings with the program team and stakeholders. Maintain strong relationships with external partners, including sites, universities, speakers, and faculty. Develop partnerships to support fellows’ mentorship and experiences. Draft quarterly reports on program outcomes and strategic alignment. 30% Program Operations Oversight Support program activities including participant selection, workshops, and logistics. Assist in program evaluations, collecting feedback and demonstrating impact. Support development and maintenance of training resources and guides. Utilize technological tools to enhance program efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned. 30% Required Education and Experience: Master’s degree in a related field. Experience working with adult learners. 4+ years in educational or workforce readiness program management. 3+ years leading teams successfully. Additional Qualifications: Experience with student conduct mediation preferred. Experience working with college students highly desirable. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively. Excellent client relations and communication skills. Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills. Ability to develop tracking systems and adapt to change. Independent judgment and initiative. Supervisory Responsibility:
