Responsibilities

  • As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will develop new data models using engineering patterns that leverage new cloud architectures, genAI and will extend or migrate existing data pipelines to the architectures as needed.
  • This role will also enable the team to build genAI based applications that will improve the efficiency of our BI teams and Product Managers.
  • Collaborate with scientists to create fast and efficient algorithms that exploit our rich data sets for optimization, statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning.
  • Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service modeling and production support for customers.
  • You will also be responsible to make sure our data store is secure and compliant and will work with Privacy and compliance teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  • Experience mentoring team members on best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Experience operating large data warehouses

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
