Embark on an exhilarating journey with the DISCO team at Amazon Music. As a senior technologist, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for internal customers. Be the driving force behind delivering top-notch, accessible data and democratizing data access through user-friendly self-service tools.

Key responsibilities

As a Sr. Data Engineer, you will develop new data models using engineering patterns that leverage new cloud architectures and genAI, and extend or migrate existing data pipelines to the architectures as needed. This role will enable the team to build genAI-based applications that improve the efficiency of our BI teams and Product Managers. Collaborate with scientists to create fast and efficient algorithms that exploit our rich data sets for optimization, statistical analysis, prediction, clustering, and machine learning. Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service modeling and production support for customers. Ensure our data store is secure and compliant and work with Privacy and compliance teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
  • Experience mentoring team members on best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
  • Experience operating large data warehouses
