Amazon Connect is a cloud-based contact center that enables businesses to deliver engaging, dynamic, and personal customer service experiences. It leverages AWS services such as Amazon Lex, Amazon Polly, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3 and Amazon Kinesis to provide a scalable, easy-to-use, extensible, and natural customer experience. We have a rapidly growing customer base and an exciting charter that includes solving highly complex engineering and algorithmic problems. We are looking for passionate and talented Software Development Engineers to join us to innovate on this new service that addresses customer needs to build modern contact centers in the cloud. This role offers a rare opportunity to be part of a fast-growing business soon after launch and help shape the technology and product as we grow. You will play a crucial role in developing the next generation contact center, delivering scalable, resilient systems with a constant customer focus.

Responsibilities

  • As a senior developer, disambiguate complex customer problems and own end-to-end delivery from architecture and design to successful customer onboarding.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with other senior technical leaders within the organization and across AWS.
  • Work across the stack with technologies involving modern web, SOA, NoSQL databases, AI, ML, Big Data, and more.
  • Design and deliver scalable, resilient systems with a strong customer focus.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 5+ years of programming experience in at least one software programming language
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability and scaling)
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle experience (coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors including market location and may vary with job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total package, in addition to a full range of benefits.
